Legal Sea Foods Restaurant Review:
About the restaurant: Originally a family chowder house in Cambridge, Mass., Legal Sea Foods is now a thriving chain, with this mall location the first in the area. Save for the cheesy paper placemats --- the place is really too pretty to take that shortcut --- this restaurant is a cut above the usual shopping center eatery.
Food & Drinks: Pristine seafood, New England clam chowder, something from the handsome raw bar and signature crab cakes with mustard sauce are all good bets. Or tuck into the Lobster Bake, which includes a steamed lobster along with a cup of clam chowder, steamers, mussels, Portuguese chorico sausage and corn on the cob. Kids are treated like VIPs, complete with their own menu and sea scene for finny coloring fun. For dessert, you can't go wrong with the Boston cream pie --- better yet, pair it with a glass of tawny port.
