Lemongrass Cafe Restaurant Review:
This Bellaire restaurant has a low-key, casual ambience, but chef Fah Vorarittinapa takes her Mediterranean-influenced Thai fusion cuisine quite seriously. Start with edamame seasoned with sea salt and some juicy pork skewers marinated in lemon grass. There are plenty of entrées, from shrimp pad thai topped with bean sprouts and peanuts to a seafood clay pot of mussels, clams, shrimp, sweet bay scallops, calamari, onions and bell peppers, and a six-ounce filet mignon with mixed vegetables. At lunch, the curry crab firecrackers (hot little fried rolls) are a good choice. There’s a nice, concise wine list with both by-the-glass and bottle selections to consider to complement the meal. For dessert, opt for a bowl of pineapple-coconut ice cream.
