Christophe Aribert, chef of the gastronomic restaurant Les Terrasses in Uriage near Grenoble, is behind the menu of this luxury brasserie located in the Palais Garnier. However, the cuisine disappoints a little bit, as one is seated in the contemporary dining room under a veil of white glass which frames white tables and red chairs, or on the grand terrace laid out on cobblestones. First, the menu is quite commonplace and the dishes are prohibitively priced, and delivered by nonchalant waitstaff. Order the foie gras, with honey cultivated on the roofs of the Palais Garnier; a pata negra pork chop, roasted and lacking flavor, though enhanced by elderberry, honey and licorice; and the opéra, an oblong cake with coffee, chocolate and almonds, and the pricey tab is about €75.
