THIS RESTAURANT HAS CHANGED LOCATIONS Masmoudi Restaurant Review:
Renowned for its pastries, Masmoudi was founded in Sfax in 1972. Every day, 120,000 items are handmade in a plant in this Tunisian town. Among a range of 130 selections, each mouthful showcases a particular aroma and a distinct texture, such as crispy, melting, soft or crunchy. Highlights of the repertoire include the famous baklava, the kaak warka with pistachio and rosewater, the “jasmine” with pistachio and almond, and the mlabes coated with meringue and stuffed with hazelnut. Treat yourself to one of the sweets in this little tea room near Châtelet. Displayed on a stand, they are sold by the piece or in a box. It’s also possible to taste them on the spot along with a Turkish coffee, a mint tea or a lemon juice perfumed with almond. If you yearn for exotic flavors, this place deserves a visit.
