Maximilien Restaurant Restaurant Review:
Panoramic views of Elliott Bay from both an outdoor deck and the casually elegant dining room are the strong selling point of Maximilien in the Pike Place Market. But the classic French bistro cuisine makes it more than a tourist trap. Filled with antique mirrors and dark wood that glow at night with candlelight, the dining room offers a quiet setting for a romantic date or conversation. The menu features French onion soup, duck confit with lentils and frites, and Hudson Valley foie gras. We like the coquilles St-Jacques and the hearty cassoulet. Linger over crème brûlée, profiteroles or a Grand Marnier soufflé. At happy hour, consider a steaming bowl of mussels. The extensive wine list is primarily French; house wines are well priced and well chosen.
