Maximilien Restaurant Restaurant Review: It’s easy to miss this intimate French restaurant tucked into the heart of Pike Place Market. Hidden behind the sculpture of Rachael the Pig, it's a go-to spot for classic bistro cuisine, as well as views of Elliott Bay from both an outdoor deck and the casually elegant dining room. The latter is filled with antique mirrors and dark wood, and it glows at night with candlelight, offering a blissfully quiet setting for a romantic date or conversation. The menu features French onion soup, duck confit with lentils and frites, and Hudson Valley foie gras. The coquilles St-Jacques is noteworthy, as is the hearty cassoulet. Linger over crème brûlée, profiteroles or a classic Grand Marnier soufflé. At happy hour, consider a steaming bowl of mussels. The extensive wine list is primarily French; house wines are well priced and well chosen.
