Maximilien Restaurant Restaurant Review: Maximilien in the Pike Place Market is a go-to spot for classic French bistro cuisine as well as panoramas of Elliott Bay from both an outdoor deck and the casually elegant dining room. The latter is filled with antique mirrors and dark wood that glow at night with candlelight, offering a blissfully quiet setting for a romantic date or conversation. The menu features French onion soup, duck confit with lentils and frites, and Hudson Valley foie gras. We like the coquilles St-Jacques and the hearty cassoulet. Linger over crème brûlée, profiteroles or a Grand Marnier soufflé. At happy hour, consider a steaming bowl of mussels. The extensive wine list is primarily French; house wines are well priced and well chosen.
