The American Hotel Restaurant Review:
The American Hotel’s eclectic menu offers a satisfying blend of French bistro fare, classic American dining, and local Long Island ingredients. Seafood ranges from littleneck clams to Hog Neck oysters and Petrossian caviar. Long Island Peking duckling is a specialty. Carnivores have ample choices, with dry-aged Black Angus sirloin, filet mignon and a huge 36-ounce aged porterhouse prepared Florentine style. You can also feast on organic free-range chicken or calf’s liver. Sit under the skylight, dig into the encyclopedic wine list and watch the passing crowds of Sag Harbor.
