Cafe Angelino Restaurant Review:

A charming storefront less than half a block from the designer heaven of Robertson Boulevard, this little restaurant's presence is almost overshadowed by the looming complex of Cedars Sinai next door. But its curse is also a blessing in that the café has become somewhat of a second lunchroom for the hordes of doctors and lab technicians who claim the run of the neighborhood during the week. On weekends, staff welcomes a local crowd to feast on fairly authentic renditions of old-world delights. We like the Sicilian-style pizzas. Although the Robertson design crowd may go for the Bianca con Parma, (a white pizza topped with authentic Parma ham), even the simple margherita is a treat. In addition to the dozen cracker-crust pies, there are six styles of risotto, lasagna with a béchamel and meat sauce, and chicken served a variety of ways, such as grilled with tomatoes, olives and garlic or roasted with rosemary. A deli case at the back displays the antipasti of the day and a tempting assortment of the kind of Italian cookies that hail straight from grandma's kitchen. A nice Italian wine selection offers choices from Chianti and Nero d’Avola to Lacryma Christi from Campania, as well as Moretti beer.
