Café Lily Restaurant Review:

About the restaurant: Father and son Angelo and Anthony Pitillo launched this effort soon after son Anthony graduated from the culinary program at The Art Institute of Atlanta. Angelo passed away, but Anthony has kept his name on the menu as co-owner. Given the duo's Italian heritage, it's no surprise that the countries ringing the Mediterranean inspire the menu. All business for lunch, the restaurant turns romantic at dinner.

Food & Drinks: In the gyro at lunch, grilled lamb tenderloin is sliced onto warm pita. There’s a lamb burger available, too, although the salmon burger has been a signature dish since the place opened. Good lunch specials go for $7.50. Among pasta selections is butternut squash ravioli tossed in sage-brown butter sauce with pecorino Romano and lemon zest. Our favorite meal here might be brunch, when the best biscuits in town are offered. An adjacent private dining space has become a tapas lounge, serving small dishes of savory morsels such as jamón serrano or chorizo sizzling in olive oil and sherry vinegar. Bread comes grilled, enhancing its crusty flavor. Paleo, vegan, dairy-free and gluten-free diets all may be accommodated. The wine list includes perhaps the largest selection of Zinfandels in town, among them several Turley options.
