Le Bistro Du Village Restaurant Review:
If you can’t work a visit to Paris into your weekend plans, a trip to Mt. Washington might be just the ticket. With its sunny butternut walls and French poster art, cozy Le Bistro Du Village provides a lift to the spirits whatever the season, and the moderately priced menu of Parisian bistro classics might make you homesick for the Left Bank. It’s a French bistro first where one can indulge in several styles of mussels, garlicky escargots with tomatoes, hanger steak with frites, and fresh green salads with a light, mustardy house dressing. If you are craving crêpes, almost three dozen savory and sweet renditions with optional gluten-free versions are offered, bearing evocative names and folded (not rolled) around such fillings as mushrooms, onion, garlic, Brussels sprouts and Brie (Napoleon); prosciutto, fried eggs and Gruyère (La Complete); and caramelized apples and ice cream (St. Germain). This being Baltimore, the seafood crêpe, with its generous portion of lump crab, is especially popular. There’s a year-round heated terrace, and in warm weather you can claim a sidewalk café table for neighborhood people-watching. Note: The name of this restaurant was formerly Crepe Du Jour.
