AGO Bistro Restaurant Review:
Located within the Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO), which was redesigned by famed architect Frank Gehry, this multi-story dining room is also a showcase for art. Chef Renee Bellefeuille has created a menu using locally sourced ingredients and a global theme. At dinner, guests can order à la carte, select a prix-fixe menu or opt for the omakase-style chef's menu. A meal might start with chawanmushi, then continue with fresh buckwheat linguini or rib-eye steak for two with fingerling potato, truffle, broccolini, mushroom, horseradish and chimichurri. For dessert, you might encounter matcha honey cake with yuzu salted caramel and pink peppercorn crumble. The approachable, well-organized wine list focuses exclusively on Ontario selections.
