FRANK Restaurant Review: Located within the Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO), which was redesigned by famed architect Frank Gehry, this multi-story dining room is also a showcase for art, with sculptures by Frank Stella and works by Canadian painters Paterson Ewen and Joyce Wieland. Chef Renee Bellefeuille has created a menu using locally sourced ingredients and a global theme. For example, a Creole-style clambake comes together with andouille sausage and grilled corn, while gnudi, ricotta-cheese dumplings, are full-flavored with northern woods mushrooms and ricotta salata. Also sample the beef tartare with kimchi purée and pickled cucumber or the cured trout pastrami with a raisin gastrique. Conclude your meal with the chocolate sharing plate, which includes salted hazelnut fudge, a waffle brownie and cocoa crumble. The approachable, well-organized wine list focuses exclusively on Ontario selections.
