FRANK Restaurant Review: Located within the Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO), which was redesigned by famed architect Frank Gehry, this multi-story dining room is also a showcase for art, with sculptures by Frank Stella and works by Canadian painters Paterson Ewen and Joyce Wieland. Chef Ryan Wilson-Lall has created a menu using locally sourced ingredients and a global theme. For example, black cod, pickled vegetables and soba noodles come together in a dashi broth, while braised octopus is flavored with achiote alongside a Peruvian potato salad. Also sample the roasted butternut squash salad with spicy maple vinaigrette, beets and goat cheese, and the duck with smoked tomato confit and black olive salt. Conclude your meal with shareable chocolate charcuterie, including chocolate salami, banana passion fruit cream, and fruit preserves. The approachable, well-organized wine list focuses exclusively on Ontario selections.
