Dallas's grande dame of dining prevails in fine style. The beloved restaurant at Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek gracefully preserves its historic roots while embracing the future: coats and ties are no longer de rigueur attire, but the setting is no less elegant. Executive chef Sebastien Archambault, who was born in Texas and raised in France, oversees the kitchen and presents New American fare with French influences. Guests can order à la carte or opt for the seasonal tasting menu ($125), with optional enhancements like caviar service. Carte Blanche, a spontaneous chef-designed tasting menu, is also an option (24-hour prior notice required). Starters may include Texas beef tartare with smoked duck egg, anchovy, pommes paille and arugula, or charred octopus with guanciale and chermoula. Next, consider Gulf red snapper with grilled zucchini, eggplant, tomato confit and cucumbers; roasted Wagyu beef sirloin with potatoes, pearl onion, pickled white beech and béarnaise; or lobster and heritage chicken with corn, sweet peppers and spinach.
