Be it in the dining room or on the terrace overlooking the water, Mill Pond House serves tasty, classic dishes with a firm emphasis on seafood. The menu is a bit unfocused and ranges from American to French and Italian; stick to simple and local. Appetizers include clam chowder, lobster bisque and various salads; seafood lovers will enjoy the raw bar and sushi menu featuring special rolls. Mains include surf and turf; grilled prime meats are served with mashed potatoes and vegetables, and Maine lobster can either be steamed or broiled and even served with crab meat stuffing. The Mill Pond burger is a good choice, made with Kobe beef, and gluten-free diners will be pleased to see an organic, gluten-free, vegan pasta that can suit all palates. For dessert, try the chocolate peanut butter tart; the cheesecake of the day is usually a winner, too. The wine list is extensive, with nearly 20 options by the glass and several dozen more by the bottle. The only hitch is the service, which doesn't always match in quality what's on the plate.
