THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Ruth's Chris Steak House Restaurant Review:

The handsome dark woods, burgundy tones and linen-topped tables definitely read steakhouse with a bit of country club thrown in for good measure at this chain. While not specifically San Francisco in style, the atmosphere is comfortable and familiar in a vaguely American way. Ruth's Chris delivers a good, if not always consistent, steak. The oddly dome-shaped filet mignon was grayish in color with nary a char mark to be found and a discernable lack of flavor. The porterhouse and the rib-eye were tastier, with caramelized exteriors and tender medium rare meat inside, but all of the selections are drowning in butter, which seems unnecessary with a Prime cut of beef. The usual suspects of sides includes three styles of fries ranging from thick cut to shoestring, potatoes four other ways, creamed spinach, broccoli au gratin and asparagus with hollandaise sauce. Everything is à la carte, which can make for a pricey evening. Those who don't carry the red meat gene will be happy with a surprisingly long menu of other options from chicken to fish to lamb.
