Wildfox Restaurant Review:
Warm up in the cooler months at this rustic American bistro with its cozy fireplaces and vibrant, off-the-kitchen chef’s counter, or take a meal-length vacation outside on the laid back patios or at the large lounge-bar area. Wildfox’s rotisserie and wood-burning oven produce California-inspired fare created by executive chef Munther Massarweh. Begin with appetizers such as crayfish fritters with a spicy chipotle dip, warm, walnut-crusted local goat cheese with roasted garlic flatbread, or pan-roasted mussels with Thai chili dipping sauce. Entrées run the gamut from jumbo shrimp and crayfish-tail risotto tossed with butternut squash, assorted mushrooms, chives and Wisconsin Asiago cheese to a campfire-style rotisserie half chicken served with cornbread stuffing, candied carrots and mushroom gravy and a roster of aged steaks in different sizes, grilled over mesquite. The full bar makes terrific martinis as well as specialty drinks. Choose from a reasonably priced and extensive California wine list and an imported beer menu as well. Debbie Massarweh’s desserts include a steamed sticky toffee pudding cake and baked Alaska.
