THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Michelangelo's Restaurant Review:
THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED It's certainly not the best Italian restaurant in town, but it's definitely one of the most unique: a live tree grows in the middle of the dining room in the 130-year-old house on Lower Westheimer. A romantic atmosphere indeed, with a piano player most nights, this decades-old establishment has longtime customers who come for the traditional Italian offerings of garlic bread, lasagna, shrimp scampi and osso buco. Sunday brunch can be a little more adventurous with grilled veal and eggs, or the Mexican-Italian mash-up of fried eggs, ranchero sauce and Italian sausage.
