If you get a country style hankering for Southern food, then Millie’s is the place for you. The kitchen favorites---old-fashioned pot roast with gravy and sides of corn bread, carrots, onions and potatoes or maybe the Haystacker Chicken dish, a buttermilk biscuit topped with deep-fried boneless breast of chicken and covered with gravy. An upscale 15-chain coffee shop, Millie’s is as homey as a calico apron serving immense portions of good ol’ boy food. Desserts are a specialty: pies, cinnamon rolls and cookies. It’s a great place for kids and seniors---a campy bit of ex-urban America, at pre-inflation prices.
