: This little beachtown oasis draws locals, families and salty surfers who’ve just spent the morning chasing waves. Owner Gabe Wheeler wanted to create a place offering quick, healthy food. The menu, a fun read, sports dishes like fuzzy monkey pancakes (with roasted grains and fresh bananas), spuds in lingerie (crisp potatoes with onions, jalapeño and tomatoes, smothered in black beans, avocado and sour cream) and deities wrap (sesame-ginger tofu in a spinach tortilla with brown rice, vegetables and black beans). We like the coconut french toast and roast beef hash with horseradish cream, herbed potatoes and scrambled eggs as lazy morning favorites. Freshly baked herb breads, muffins, croissants and cakes add to the tasty mix. Vegetarian or vegan guests have many options as well. Try the pesto and artichoke heart quesadilla as an interesting combination. The cafe's enclosed patio has a bamboo roof, and is filled with close tables and long communal ones where new friendships are forged over lattes and mimosas.
