Oliver Cafe & Lounge Restaurant Review:

Created by the ever-so-stylish restaurateur Mario Oliver, Oliver Café & Lounge is a collaboration with Equinox fitness club in Beverly Hills. With entrances from both the street and the club, the restaurant is designed to service the needs of health-conscious gourmands and athletes alike. Open for breakfast to-go and dinner Monday through Friday and lunch daily, it shines at happy hour, when protein and vitamin boosts meet vodka and vermouth. Drinks like the "power-c" and "berry mindful" martinis are packed not only with a substantial serving of spirits, but also include vitamin-charged tonics. For the more traditional, there are standard smoothies, freshly made, in flavors like passion fruit, mango and banana. Food-wise, the menu includes Brie and avocado bruschetta, a blackened-chicken wrap, and a quinoa and tofu bowl with toasted seaweed, which are approved by an in-house dietician. Pressed sandwiches are on order all day, with more sophisticated fare in the evening, like miso cold-poached salmon and ahi “mignon” with kale salad. A surprisingly diverse wine list includes several selections from Bordeaux.
