Housed in the Hotel Gansevoort, this multi-level, sleek Japanese bar and restaurant is comprised of Ono Restaurant, Garden of Ono and O Bar. The space offers a trendy and lively atmosphere, innovative Japanese cuisine and a hip bar scene. Begin with small plates: kumamoto oyster shooters with wasabi, tobiko and quail egg or the crispy gingered crab cake with wasabi mayo and lotus chips. Move on to the robata---meat, fish or vegetables on skewers, served with five dipping sauces: shisho pesto, spicy plum miso, sesame mustard, scallion ponzu and kimchi. Then there are the sushi favorites, followed by the “very large plates” such as the surf ‘n’ turf of braised Kobe beef short ribs with miso-grilled king crab legs.
