The Firehouse Restaurant Restaurant Review:
The Firehouse Restaurant remains one of the top choices for fine dining in Sacramento, thanks to its professional service, high-end cuisine and extensive wine list. Located in a converted nineteenth-century fire station in Old Town, the restaurant has an interior awash in period charm, with Victorian antiques, sparkling chandeliers and gilded paintings. Also impressive is the outdoor courtyard, with its tranquil shade trees, ivy-draped brick walls and soothing fountain. Starters include smoked tenderloin carpaccio, ginger-almond pork belly and bone marrow panna cotta. Entrées include tartufata sea scallop with black truffle cream, duck with blood orange molasses, and venison osso buco with brandied cherry chutney. Desserts include a Gianduja mousse bombe and Grand Marnier soufflé. Be sure to enjoy your meal with a selection from the wine list, one of the most comprehensive in the city with options from around the globe, including an extensive array of rare wines.
