Paragon Restaurant Review:

Paragon is a family restaurant in the best sense. Its industrial chic setting (a former warehouse) can be noisy, but it's a friendly buzz, and forgiving of chatty toddlers. The menu of American comfort food is refreshingly free of pretension and will please the fussiest of eaters. At night the lively bar comes into its own, serving local microbrews and craft cocktails. In good weather, patrons move outside and sit on the former railroad docks. Standout dishes include the braised pot roast, mac ‘n’ cheese, fish ‘n’ chips, and a coffee-smoked roasted half chicken with garlic mashed potatoes and caramelized onion gravy. Those seeking lighter fare and a few more nutrients might opt for a butternut squash and fig salad, a red snapper BLT, or wild mushroom risotto. Desserts continue the theme with treats such as an apricot raspberry crisp and butter pecan bread pudding with banana bourbon sauce. Brunch offers many savory choices, from mushroom crêpes and creative omelets to salads and sandwiches from the regular menu. Service is friendly and prompt.
