THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Redwood Grille Restaurant Review:
With a sophisticated dining room and an outdoor patio that showcases expansive views of the Third Street Promenade, Redwood Grille is a prime spot for post-shoppers or out-of-towners who want to be close to the beach. The New American menu is filled with somewhat predictable but often well-executed dishes. Grilled octopus is tender and with a char one comes to expect, while sweet cherry tomatoes and basil add to the overall flavor. Sandwiches are large in portion, particularly the lobster grinder --- a soft hoagie filled with lobster salad made crunchy by Granny Smith apples, and served with a side of quinoa. Salads and hamburgers are also available. Slow-cooked baby-back ribs are tender to the touch but far too sweet, while a bone-in rib-eye is a good size and cooked to the preferred temperature of medium rare, but lacks seasoning. Apple crumble with vanilla ice cream is a satisfying finish to the meal. A concise wine list is entirely made up of California vintners, predominantly from Napa and Sonoma.
