Remy's Noodle Palace Restaurant Review:

Taipei native Remy Liu presides over this Taiwanese restaurant, located in a City of Industry strip mall. The space features olive green and orange walls, paintings of bygone Taiwan and little more. Given the place’s name, noodles are clearly the star --- specifically, Taiwan’s national dish, niu rou mian, aka beef noodle soup. Spicy tendon beef noodle soup features firm flour noodles, numbing chile spice, soy sauce and cilantro. Add minced pickled mustard greens sautéed with garlic to dial up the punch even more. Special pork pot stickers are also good, with thin wrappers, juicy scallion-flecked pork fillings and a surprising side of sweet bread-and-butter pickles. If you’re adventurous, or just want to round out your meal with protein, order a cold combo that includes rosy slices of lean beef shank, firm beef tripe, bean curd, kelp seaweed and crunchy pig ear. To drink, options are limited to canned soda, house-made plum juice or winter melon tea.
