San Marino Seafood Market & Restaurant Restaurant Review:
Hidden in San Marino’s quaint downtown area is this intimate fish market-café where a gracious owner welcomes guests to smartly dressed tables or a pleasant outdoor patio. A pair of formidable wall-mounted marlins and series of nautical flags dominate the unpretentious décor. Appetizers include generally well-executed items like shrimp or Dungeness crab cocktails, ceviche made daily, a bucket of mussels or clams, and fish tacos. The New England clam chowder may be the kitchen’s single best effort, and breaded calamari steak (which also goes into a nice sandwich) is light and tender. Dinner entrées include plenty of fresh fish, such as bluenose sea bass, swordfish, snapper or Idaho trout, all served with a choice of sides. There are plenty of salads and sandwiches, too.
