For a few hours, escape the hustle and bustle of the City of Angels at Terra restaurant, perched on the rooftop of Eataly LA. To bring even more fun to the experience, the team of Eataly LA has created the “Zodiac Pop-up Bar,” available on Saturdays for brunch until October 2nd.

How does it work? Fill out a card with your own zodiac sign and choose your spirit preference. The choices are between gin or vodka. The cocktail will then arrive at your table along with an astrology affirmation. Each drink is priced at $16.

Now it is time to pay attention to the menu. I started with the skewers where, surprisingly, the chicken was the best over the mutton and beef ones. The fashionable avocado toast was topped by a sunny-side up egg. In an Italian twist, the eggs benedict were laid on a cornetto on a bed of prosciutto. A pleasant option for vegetarians is the “Cereali salad” of farro, fregola, barley, cucumbers and asparagus seasoned with a lemon vinaigrette and topped with Quartirolo Lombardo DOP (a soft cheese made with cow’s milk). For the price ($26), I was a little disappointed by the hand-cut spaghetti carbonara. End with the delectable wood-fired strawberry French toast Italianized with ricotta and balsamic vinegar.
