THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Slocum House Restaurant Review:
One of the city's most romantic restaurants, Slocum House is nestled among ancient oak trees with the scent of jasmine in the air. This historic restaurant has all the romantic touches---a harpist playing on the shady outdoor patio; the warmth of a crackling fire indoors. But the ambience is by far the star attraction, the cuisine almost an afterthought. Starters include Basque lamb tapas, house-smoked salmon and a local sweet corn bisque. Mains include pan-roasted salmon, lamb loin with quinoa and Wagyu beef. The service can be shoddy or spot-on, and the food is similarly inconsistent.
