| Shrouded by ancient oak trees and the scent of jasmine, this historic restaurant beckons with romantic touches---a harpist playing on the shady outdoor patio; the warmth of a crackling fire indoors. The ambience is by far the star attraction; the cuisine almost an afterthought. While impressive at first glance, the execution often leaves much to be desired. Starters include ahi poke “cones,” crispy Thai calamari and escargots, while mains include a Moroccan orange chicken breast with Israeli couscous, New England day boat scallops with Pernod beurre blanc, and Australian lamb noisettes with cherry-tamarind chutney. |
