Operated by the Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts Los Angeles, this is where Wolfgang Puck wannabes get their first taste of cooking for paying customers. The dinner menu offerings may include a lobster Cobb salad, coffee-braised short ribs with house-made apple chips and parsnip purée, and a chocolate semifreddo for dessert. Café items range from entrée salads to sandwiches and pastries. This is one place where a tip really makes a difference --- gratuities go into a scholarship fund.
