Tequila Museo Mayahuel has brought a touch of Mexican sophistication to downtown Sacramento. Unlike its nearby competitors, there are no greasy tacos or overstuffed burritos here. Rather, the menu is a culinary tour of our neighbor to the south, featuring seasonal ingredients crafted into creative interpretations of the classics. Small plates include corn tortillas stuffed with cheese and poblano peppers, a salad of beets, oranges and onion, and meatball soup. Mains include chicken mole, pork salsa verde and shrimp with mushrooms and serrano chiles. Mexican-inflected desserts include mango mousse cake and chocolate flan.
