Verve Roastery Del Sur in the Arts District offers haute specialty roast coffees and a breakfast and lunch menu from Chopped alum chef Mario Tolentino, alongside pastries from chef Erin McKenna (Babycakes). Expect an airy, sprawling, Nordic-inspired space with blonde wood and sunny windows. Menu items include an acai and dragon fruit bowl; avocado toast with chives, radish, shallot and cultured butter; savory sourdough french toast with sunny side-up farm egg; a porchetta and truffle cheese sandwich; and buckwheat soba noodles with turmeric cauliflower, pickled cabbage and miso tofu. The craft coffee bar serves booze-free coffee “cocktails” like a Smoked Chicory Latte with Verve flash brew concentrate, bitters blend, chicory cordial and milk, shaken and smoked.
