Really two restaurants in one: A somewhat upscale seafood establishment upstairs, and a down-home, peel-your-own-shrimp lounge downstairs.

15th Street Fisheries is really two restaurants in one: A formal upstairs, decorated in Victorian style and serving fresh fish, pastas such as seafood cannelloni and exotic game like kangaroo and ostrich filets. Then there's a cozier, less pretentious, lounge-like area downstairs offering a budget menu of alligator burgers, buckets of spicy peel-'n-eat shrimp, and a freshly fried fish sandwich. Opened in 1979, the Fisheries sits on the Intracoastal, which makes the somewhat standard fare taste a little bit better.

Food is fresh and good. The tarpon feeding is a lot of fun for visitors.
