THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED 1924 Main Restaurant Review:
Chef Rob Dalzell left his small, Missouri town for more exotic locales, like Napa Valley, Scottsdale, Arizona and Oahu. He came back home and opened 1924 Main in the beautifully rehabbed Rieger Building. His weekly-changing menu gives diners options---lots and lots of options. During lunch, one may choose either two or three prix-fixe courses ($10 and $15, respectively). During dinner, diners can order up to five courses. Ones to look for include steak tartare with grilled flatbread, potted pork and mostarda with walnut bread, duck confit ravioli, lamb meatballs with Moroccan lentils, rock shrimp ragoût and Parmesan polenta. Finish it all off with a port tasting accompanied by Christopher Elbow chocolates. Ask the staff about wine pairings, which are available in three- or five-ounce pours. Dalzell has a nice trifecta going in his neighborhood. He also owns Souperman and Pizza Bella.
