THIS ESTABLISHMENT IS CLOSED Sherlock Holmes buffs simply love this offbeat spot, where the theme has been developed down to the finest detail. On each paper-covered table is a big magnifying glass and on the stucco-like white walls you’ll encounter drawings of the pipe-smoking detective in his cap and cape, shadowboxes donning pistols and other such memorabilia that adds to the foggy London feeling. The theme continues on the menu, with dishes named for some of the 60 stories that make up the Holmes bibliography. The well-edited menu includes items like the Illustrious Client, an appetizer of portobello mushrooms. There are also a few fish and seafood choices like whitefish roasted on a cedar plank. Country desserts include coconut cream pie, blueberry-ginger cake and strawberry shortcake. Tea is served occasionally on Saturdays.
