 Chef Carlo DeMarco hasn’t looked back since he left the city for the ’burbs. The Villanova native, formerly of Bridget Foy's, commands a loyal following in the Main Line, where the bar attracts an after-work crowd and the cuisine is finely drawn. DeMarco’s solid grasp of seasonal American and global cooking is evident in creative dishes such as portobello "cappuccino"---a mushroom soup with rosemary foam and cocoa dust---crispy salt and pepper calamari or the salmon au poivre with creamy potato gratin and Pinot Noir demi-glace. Desserts include a toasted-coconut Key lime tart so tropical you can almost feel the island breezes. The handsome dining room, with its sweeping glass walls and colorful paintings, and the friendly young staff provide a warm welcome. Wines (almost exclusively from California) less than $100 a bottle are half off Tuesdays and Thursdays.
