Dining room at 5 Seasons Westside, Atlanta, GAThis descendent of Dennis Lange’s 5 Seasons brewpub in Sandy Springs crafts an adventurous menu, especially in brewpub circumstances. The 100-year-old core building holds the kitchen and brewery; then there’s the two-story restaurant as well as a lively scene on the roof at the “Sky Bar.” The brews, by brewmaster Crawford Moran, are clean, crisp and full flavored. These, too, get adventurous, as by saving rainwater, the team may produce a rainwater-based brew. The menu includes pizzas and several small dishes. Some of the main plates come in four-ounce sizes for smaller appetites and wallets. Unique to this location are some of the game options; elk, antelope and rabbit may appear from time to time. Sometimes a concept will venture outside the box, such as in the oyster “rich boy” that comes with a dollop of black caviar. Lots of effort goes into sourcing organic products and healthy ingredients, such as grass-fed beef. And concomitant with that are the restaurant’s efforts in running a green operation, so used oil powers the steam for the beer vats.
