50's Highway Fountain Diner Restaurant Review: Owner-cook Chris Ignacio offers up burgers, crispy french fries and double-malted milk shakes in this blast-from-the-past eatery, complete with all manner of '50s memorabilia. But the tastes don’t stop there. The moist, flaky mahi mahi, cooked in a secret sauce, is a specialty, or try the sizzling steak, topped with sautéed onions and mushrooms. Be sure to save room for dessert. Ignacio's mom rises early each day to bake the array of pies and cobblers. The menu rotates daily with fillings such as lilikoi (passionfruit), blueberry cream cheese and macadamia nut. Peach, apple, cherry and blueberry fill the homemade cobblers. |
