Located inside the Hyatt Regency Irvine, 6ix Park Grill offers seasonal breakfasts, lunches and dinners in a handsome setting full of warm woods and white tablecloths. Some diners start on the relaxing tropical patio, which has a warm fire pit in the cooler months. Chef Ted Hill has taken over the kitchens, but the wood-fired grill is still utilized for many of the restaurant's signature items. Don’t miss the smoke-tinged shrimp, which come with a Thai chili marinade, avocado and spicy aïoli. Although you can order the grilled Caesar salad off the menu, this item is sadly not as smoky and creamy as in previous incarnations. At lunch, try the Kobe beef burger or a wood-fired pizza. At dinner, however, order the earthy scallops with mushroom risotto, asparagus and a raspberry vinaigrette. All of the steaks, as well as the stuffed pork chop, are cooked on the wood grill, which gives them a sweet, smoky flavor from the apple and mesquite. The three-course prix-fixe menu is reasonable and features the flat-iron steak, scallops or chicken for the main course. The lounge menu, wine list and specialty cocktails are all palate- and wallet-worthy.
