7 On Fulton Restaurant Review: Convenient to the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, the Wyndham Riverfront New Orleans draws both locals and visitors to its flagship restaurant. Creating plate presentations that are as elegant as the interior décor, the kitchen smartly combines the best of Cajun and Creole cooking with a traditional Southern theme. Chef Ryan Stone Ware’s dishes may include a Creole pan-basted pork tenderloin with Yukon gold potatoes, or a straightforward oven-roasted lobster tail with sautéed vegetables. The adjacent bar brings in downtowners for happy hour, and they appreciate the well-shaken martinis and a menu featuring oysters and Brie, a classic blackened chicken sandwich, and New Orleans barbecued shrimp, among an array of other items. For dessert, try the crème brûlée. Smart attention is paid to the wine selections, and there’s an appropriate pairing for every item. The restaurant is as romantic for dinner as it is suited to a power lunch. |
