7 Seas Restaurant Restaurant Review: Watch the whales, dolphins and surfers during the day and the moon rise over the Sea of Cortez at night at this oceanfront restaurant. Executive chef Alejandro Rodriguez Ponce’s menu emphasizes Baja-fresh seafood in a kaleidoscope of internationally inspired entrée’s ranging from pistachio-crusted tuna in hibiscus sauce to a delicate salmon covered with toasted coconut, almonds, rice and ginger. Mexican fare includes vegetarian enchiladas with tofu or cheese, and an enormous Mexican combo with a stuffed poblano, quesadillas and chicken sope (thick half-faced taco). Don’t miss the tamarindo shrimp with risotto---fresh prawns in a sweet, picante tamarind sauce. Desserts are prime dinner-house fare, such as triple chocolate cake, Key lime pie and profiteroles filled with ice cream and topped with chocolate sauce. The full bar offers national beers, a fair selection of wines and good margaritas made with seasonal fruits. Ask for a beer from Baja Brewery, one of only six micro-breweries in all of Mexico.
