Accanto Restaurant Review: Accanto may have changed chefs, but the restaurant’s casual yet sophisticated approach to Italian dining remains intact. Portions might be a little smaller and prices a bit higher, but this is still a comfortable spot to enjoy anything from a cocktail to a full meal. The glassed in storefront offers diners a pleasant view of busy Belmont Street. When perusing the menu, be sure to try the fritto misto, a light, crackling mix of prawns, calamari, lemon slices, fennel and whole olives. Or choose the charcuterie plate featuring artisan-cured meats and cheeses from around the world. For something more substantial, order the lasagna with a hearty lamb Bolognese, the squid ink spaghetti, or the roasted half chicken with mashed potatoes and Calabrian chile sauce. The popular brunch goes beyond the ordinary, proposing appetizing selections such as smoked trout hash, a hangtown fry with duck eggs, and most notably, ricotta donuts. Libations range from craft cocktails, notable wines, microbrews and several refreshing hard ciders.
