Acquerello Restaurant Restaurant Review:

Just a short boat ride across the lagoon from Piazza San Marco brings you to this prestigious resort on San Clemente Island. You’ll enter a completely enchanted environment with beautiful gardens surrounding an elegant summer palace. There are three restaurants on the island belonging to the estate, but Acquerello is the main venue, where executive chef Roberto Dal Seno takes center court during the summer season. Guests may choose to eat outside in the informal setting of the gardens, watching the sun set over the lagoon and the skyline of Venice, or inside in the stylishly Art Deco decorated dining room. Dal Seno prepares a tasting menu that’s well worth ordering. The raw fish starter includes wild salmon sprayed with a vanilla atomizer. As a main course, consider the braised veal; there are other meat and fish choices, too, such as suckling roast pig. If you can’t make a decision among the desserts, why not try them all in the sampler? The apple charlotte, if available, is another good option. The wine list has excellent labels from Italian vineyards; however, you can’t go wrong with the local wines, which go especially well with any of the seafood dishes.
