THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Airstream Diner Restaurant Review:

When Chef Fred Eric of Vida & Fred 62 fame decided to take on Beverly Hills, he spared no expense in doing things...differently. Taking over what seemed to be a cursed space on the corner of Little Santa Monica and Camden, he transformed the entire lot into a retro dream (or nightmare, depending on your childhood memories). A false exterior was erected to resemble the gleaming, mirrored look of its namesake Airstream. The theme carries through into the dining room, a playful space to say the least, outfitted in shades of orange and turquoise with ample formica and vinyl. In keeping with its Beverly Hills address, the Airstream’s makeover was made complete with soft lighting and chenille throw pillows. Although the menu---Eric’s signature Cal-Diner food---tends to take a back seat to the over-the-top décor, cuisine should not be discounted. Signatures like the Wally Burger, a half-pound of hamburger steak overshadowing a fresh, toasted bun and the Thai Cobb salad with spinach and green papaya elevate diner food to a new level. With a nod toward the image obsessed, Eric has included many health conscious offerings like tofu and egg white scrambles, veggie burgers and rice bowls. Breakfast is served all day and Eric’s trailer-trash meets uptown menu is available 24/7, for anyone cruising Rodeo Drive at 2 a.m.
