Building its reputation on colorful décor and a flavorful assortment of dishes on both the luncheon buffet and the full menu, Aladdin strikes a happy chord in Rockville’s Traville Village. It’s a midday hangout for moms taking a break and local business folk; hence, it’s very casual, and the favorite spot is the buffet line, where guests won’t find the exotic, but will find ample selections to make lunchtime satisfying, such as the butter chicken. From the regular menu, you’ll find two different takes on the fiery vindaloo, plus a traditional goat curry. You’ll also discover a short but sweet selection of tandoori dishes, and for vegetarians, everything from lentils and kidney beans to dumplings cooked in a creamy sauce.
