Aldo's Ristorante Restaurant Review

: Aldo's is a winning combination of good Italian comfort food and Virginia Beach's glitterati. Dishes such as Cape Henry crab meat capellini, chicken or veal Marsala, and fileto al Cognac (hand-cut, seven-ounce filet of beef topped with a Cognac and peppercorn sauce) plus pizzas from the wood-burning brick oven and a notable wine list have delighted Hampton Roadsters and tourists for 25 years. The moderately priced, extensive menu makes this a favorite of families, but the addition of live entertainment and a sophisticated meet-and-greet bar area mean Aldo's is a place where the beautiful people gather in the evenings for a variety of fruit-flavored mojitos and hot toddies with local honey.

Aldo's - the worst restaurant experience in years
by wbarry on Wed Jul 30, 2008 6:07 pm
Tonight, we went to Aldo's with my 88 yr old mother for a special dinner. We even made reservations weeks in advance. The dinner was fine until the waiter's assistant brought the two main courses: shrimp & scallop linguine and veal marsala, to our table about 1 minute after the appetizers were delivered to us. We were not ready & I asked him to take them back. When we were finished with the appetizers, the main courses were brought out. It was obvious that the chef just put the dinners to the side until we were ready, rather than cook another dinner. The scallops & veal were worse than leather. The main courses were awful. We will never come back & recommend that anyone who wants a professional restaurant shun this place
