THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Ali Baba Restaurant Restaurant Review: Different owners took over the reins of Ali Baba. The exotic décor remains the same, as does much of the menu, though spice and seasoning seem more subdued. Sunday brunch offers a chance to sample the cooking for under $12. Besides a varying selection of salads and soups, the buffet table may also hold tilapia with capers and tomatoes, tender lamb shanks, ground meat kebabs with tomato sauce, roasted chicken legs, green beans, sautéed mushrooms and two preparations of rice, as well as pastries and cookies. At dinner, juicy kebab options include lamb, beef, poultry and vegetarian. Vegetarians may also create their own plate from a selection of dishes served with fluffy basmati rice. Grilled quail, Cornish hens and Abadanian shrimp (sautéed with capers, tomato and garlic in lemon-butter sauce) round out the menu. Dessert options include white chocolate macadamia nut cheesecake and akbar mashti (homemade Persian ice cream). Or relax with Turkish coffee or spiced tea and watch the belly dancer on Thursdays. |
