THIS ESTABLISHMENT IS CLOSED Casino restaurants are usually overpriced; this one is a surprising exception. While the prices are not low, they are more affordable by far than the restaurants at other gambling places, probably because this steakhouse wants to attract those who look upon it as a destination in and of itself. The steaks are aged prime beef and range from the petit filet mignon at $23 to the 24-ounce porterhouse at $35. Bargain hunters may dine on chicken breast at $16, and à la carte accompaniments include the usual steakhouse array of shrimp cocktail, oysters Rockefeller and Caesar salad. The array of desserts is especially appealing, ranging from Michigan cherry cream pie (a twist on Boston cream pie), strawberries Romanoff and a seven-layer chocolate cake. The setting is elegant, with handsome tapestries and rich, dark paneling.
