 Amanda's Restaurant Review: Amanda's setting is enchanting and warm with seating divided among several dining rooms. The restaurant's trompe l'oeil décor and its menu full of tempting choices attract the well-heeled young professionals who inhabit Hoboken. Salads are complex and artfully presented, illustrated in the spinach salad prepared with pink grapefruit, blue cheese, walnuts, lardons and walnut vinaigrette. Among entrées, plump seared sea scallops are served with celeriac purée, spinach, petit lentils and celery emulsion. Nightly Early Bird three-course meals are a bargain at $16 per person, and any house wine can be purchased for $20 a bottle. A sophisticated wine list is offered at reasonable prices and special events are hosted here on a regular basis. Desserts are something of an afterthought, but a good choice is the apple raisin strudel. |
