| Amelia's is a charming landmark located right along quaint Marine Avenue on Newport's Balboa Island. The restaurant has been around for more than four decades, serving up classic Italian and Mediterranean-style seafood dishes. The interior can be viewed as romantic, although Amelia's is starting to look outdated. The menu is basically Italian during lunch, but at dinnertime chef Hettie Robinson (Amelia's daughter) comes up with seafood dishes such as cioppino, bouillabaisse, shrimp scampi and linguine with bay scallops and baby calamari. Regulars stop by early Friday through Sunday for the sunset specials from 5 p.m.-6 p.m. Amelia's is also known for its more American-style Sunday brunch. |
